An Early Christmas Treat for Music Lovers
Monday December 5, 2005
Anyone heard of Trans-Siberian Orchestra? I'm sure you have. This group's popularity has risen to great heights and they certainly deserve it. In 1996, Trans-Siberian Orchestra was formed by Paul O'Neill, his desire was to create music that had great emotional impact. His idea was to write music and lyrics that could creatively stand on their own but when mixed be able to artistically produce a unified whole. Added to that, he came up with the idea of weaving stories into the songs. Paul O'Neill succeeded what is now known as rock opera. In his words, Paul O'Neill describes what Trans-Siberian Orchestra is, "It's about creating great art". For him great art is when the artist succeeds to touch or trigger an emotional response from the viewer or listener. Two of the other composers who make up Trans-Siberian Orchestra are Robert Kinkel, also a keyboardist, and Jon Oliva. The group is made up of the finest and most talented artists, singers and musicians.
Recently, I found a website featuring a Christmas light display that was synchronized to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Wizard in Winter". This spectacular light display was created by Carson Williams of Mason, Ohio. Watch this amazing video and see for yourself what a good job he did. There is also an interview with Carson Williams available at this website.
By the looks of it Trans-Siberian Orchestra is really succeeding in creating an emotional response. What do you think? Talkback in our Forum.
