History of Electronic Music

Technology really has gone a long way, things are more accessible now and tasks are easier to perform. This holds true in music as well where technology has given rise to a new breed of musical instruments. But in order to appreciate what we have now, let's first take a look at how electronic music evolved. Here's an annotated article by Dr. Kristine Burns.

Music Education In The News: A musical called "Love, Janis" which is about the legendary musician Janis Joplin, will play at San Francisco’s Marines Memorial Theatre from July 7 to Sept. 3, 2006. For each ticket bought on the said dates, $5 will go to Music In Schools Today (MuST), an organization in support of music education with focus on at-risk youths. Read more here.

This Day In Music HIstory: 1594 - The Belgian composer Orlando Lassus died at the age of 61.
