Paul Anka
Wednesday January 30, 2008
"I'm so young and you're so old. This, my darling, I've been told." Who doesn't know this famous opening line to the hit song "Diana"? A teen sensation during the late 1950's, singer/songwriter Paul Anka has penned many of our favorite oldies music including "Put Your Head On My Shoulder," "Times of Your Life" and my husband's fave song, "My Way." What I really like about Paul Anka is that he continues to reinvent his songs and adapt it to our times. To date he remains active with scheduled tours beginning this February.Music Education in the News: Joshua Roman, principal cellist of the Seattle Symphony, is leaving the orchestra.
This Day in Music History: 1566 - Composer and luterist Alessandro Piccinini was born.
