Know your Scales

In general, a scale is defined as a series of 8 notes that begins and ends on the same note (root note). The root note is also the name of the scale; for example, if the scale begins and ends on F, the scale is in F. There are various types of scales depending on the intervallic formula, these include:

  • Major Scales
  • Minor Scales
  • Chromatic Scales
  • Pentatonic Scales
