Domenico Scarlatti was an Italian composer of the Baroque period. He was a harpsichord virtuoso who wrote over 500 sonatas. His influence reverberates in the works of other composers such as Carlos de Seixas; a Portuguese composer of keyboard music.
This Day in Music History: 1945 - Itzhak Perlman was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. He s a violin virtuoso, conductor and music educator. He studied at the Academy of Music in Tel Aviv then continued to Juilliard School. He had his professional debut at Carnegie hall in 1963 and in 1964, won in the Leventritt Competition.
