The role of the disc jockey is to play music geared towards a specific audience and occasion. DJ's work in radio stations where they are expected to create a daily play list. They also play music at local functions such as parties and parades; some even get the chance to go on tour with famous artists.

This Day in Music History: 1819 - Composer Jacques Offenbach was born in Cologne, Germany. He managed the Bouffes-Parisiens from 1855 to 1866 and it was here where many of his operettas were performed.
