For over 10 years, the Song of the Year Song & Lyric Writing Competition has helped open doors for aspiring songwriters across the globe. You can submit your song/s to any of the 10 categories and send in your entries online or via snail mail. This month's round is still open, but you have to hurry as deadline for submissions is on September 7.
This Day in Music History: 1850 - The opera Lohengrin by Richard Wagner premiered at Weimar, Germany. The Festival Theatre (The Festpielhaus) in Bayreuth was built by Gottfried Semper based on Wagner's specifications and is still being used to stage Wagner's operas.
