"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" became a phenomenal hit during the late 1940s and remains a favorite to this day. The song sold millions of copies, inspired recordings in various languages and resulted in a variety of merchandise based on the lovable reindeer.

This Day in Music History

On this day in 1928, "An American in Paris," a musical by George Gershwin, premiered in New York City. Gershwin was one of the prominent composers and songwriters of the 20th century. He composed scores for Broadway musicals and wrote some of the most memorable songs of our time, including "I've Got a Crush on You," "I Got Rhythm" and "Someone to Watch Over Me."

Movie of the Day

Jailhouse Rock (Compare Prices) - One of Elvis Presley's classic movies; it's a story about a man who was imprisoned after he killed someone during a brawl. Once in prison, he discovers his knack for singing and playing the guitar. He would further pursue his talent after his release from prison. This movie touches on how fame goes to a persons' head and that it is during the lowest point of your life when you realize who your true friends are.
