By

Happy Holidays!

Carol of the Day

If there is one Christmas carol that has been recorded so many times, it's "Silent Night." This touching carol was originally written in German and then translated to English. The tune of this carol has been kept similar to the original music composed by Franz Gruber.

This Day in Music History

On this day in 1995, Joni Mitchell received the Century Award at the Billboard Music Awards. Aside from being a musician, she is also an accomplished painter. What makes her unique, apart from her distinctive vocals and her knack for writing beautiful songs, is her openness to experimentation; and her guts to challenge the "norms" set by the entertainment industry.

Movie of the Day

Walk the Line (Compare Prices) - Based on the story of Johnny Cash, played by Joaquin Phoenix and his relationship with June Carter, played by Reese Witherspoon. It retells the life of Cash, his troubled childhood, his relationships and his music.
