Carol of the Day
Originally titled as "Three Kings of Orient," this Christmas carol is nice to sing along to because of its tune and the rhyming lyrics. It was published in 1863 and 1865, both under the title "Three Kings of Orient." Here's more information on "We Three Kings."
This Day in Music History
On this day in 1721, Johann Sebastian Bach married Anna Magdalena Wilcken, a singer and daughter of a trumpeter. A prolific composer, his works include passions, concertos, orchestral suites and almost 200 cantatas. Bach's works are listed using the letters BWV followed by a number. BWV stands for Bach Werke Verzeichnis (Bach Works Catalogue); a catalog of Bach's works arranged by genre.
