Title: Joy to the World

Author: The lyrics was written by Isaac Watts (1674-1748), also known as the "Father of English Hymnology". Watts wrote the lyrics in 1719. The melody was composed by Lowell Mason (1792-1872), a composer of church music.

Interesting Fact: It is believed that the melody for "Joy to the World" was partly based on the work of George Frideric Handel, specifically the oratorio Messiah.

Lyrics (Excerpt):
Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
