Patented in 1897, introduced at Holyoke, Mass. in 1906.

Description:

The dynamophone is huge and quite heavy, it called for two musicians to play it. Telephone receivers are used to convert impulses produced by this instruments electromagnetic generators. The dynamophone is the ancestor of today's electronic synthesizers. It disappeared during World War 1. Three versions of this instrument were created - Mark I, Mark II and the final version was completed in 1911.
