The most famous Spanish composer of the 16th century and The Little Palestrina.

Type of Compositions:

He wrote mostly church music.

Musical Work:

He wrote about 20 mass settings, several Magnificat settings, responsories, lamentations, anthems, motets, hymns and psalms. One of his finest work is the great Requiem Mass he wrote in 1603. It was for the funeral of Empress Maria for whom de Victoria worked for several years.

Interesting Fact:

He was ordained a priest in 1575.
