St. Patrick was born in AD 385 and is the patron saint of Ireland. When he was a teenager, he became a slave and while in captivity he formed a deep relationship with God. He would later on escape and study under the bishop of Auxerre. St. Patrick wanted to convert pagans to Christians and he built monasteries, schools and churches to support his cause. As a result, he was arrested many times but managed to escape. He would die on March 17 AD 461; this day is what we now know as St. Patrick's Day.

The Irish are famous for their beautiful songs, here are a few of their well-loved folk songs:

An Irish Lullaby (Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ra} - This song was written by James Royce Shannon in 1913. It was featured in a stage production called "Shameen Dhu" which was produced by Chauncey Olcott. It was later on sang by Bing Crosby in Going My Way.
