Guide Review - Product Review of "Beethoven's Wig 4: Dance Along Symphonies"
From the creative mind of lyricist, musician, vocalist and father of three Richard Perlmutter, comes the newest addition to the "Beethoven's Wig" cd series - "Beethoven's Wig 4: Dance Along Symphonies."This cd features 12 classical and danceable symphonies from renowned composers like Bach, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. What makes this cd different though are the amusing and yet informative lyrics. Richard Perlmutter truly has a knack for writing humorous verses while mixing in relevant information about the composer and/or music.
For example, any parent who's ever caught their children having a late-night sugary snack can relate to "A Midnight Snack" set to Bizet's "Habanera." Figure skaters will agree with the sentiments expressed in "Give Me A 10" set to Waldteufel's "Skater's Waltz." In "Beep Beep Beep," Perlmutter successfully creates an amusing situation using Beethoven's melancholy piece "Moonlight Sonata."
The vocals and mixing are excellent. The liner notes contain, not only the lyrics, but also trivia questions and suggested activities to further facilitate learning. It would've been great though if they added at least two more symphonies as some of the pieces are short.
All in all, "Beethoven's Wig 4: Dance Along Symphonies" is a delight to listen to.
