Whether you choose to study on your own, take online courses or enroll in a music school, music/method books are always a must. Here are the "Top 4 Saxophone Music Books for Beginners". This is a book/cd/dvd/ pack also published by Hal Leonard. It is another self-teaching method that will benefit students of any age whether they self-study or take individual or group lessons. It has 72 full-demo tracks and a 25-minute dvd. Basic lessons are covered from how to assemble your sax to reading music notation and more.

3) Progressive Beginner Saxophone with DVD

A beginning method book with a bonus dvd published by Koala Publications. Teaches the basics of playing both the tenor and alto sax. It also has a fingering chart.

4) Pro Art Saxophone Method - Book 1

Has a progressive and thorough approach to the basics of saxophone playing. This will be good as a supplement as it doesn't delve deeper but does present the fundamentals of playing the instrument in an interesting way. Under Alfred's Publishing.
