From the article: The Songwriter As A Storyteller
Although all songs tell a story, there are certain songs that express it in a narrative way. This is particularly evident in country and folk music where the story is well-developed. Please share with us your favorite story songs. Share Your Favorites

I Want You To Know I Love You
- I have several favorites, but here's a new one. My daughter and I recently heard a song on Pandora Radio with the above title. It was such a lovely song, sung by a group of young girls called The Jellybeans. From the moment of birth when the only thing they knew was the sound of mom's voice, they knew love. It went on to tell the story of what mom and dad mean to them. Beautiful words out of the mouths of children with such beautiful voices. Talk about wanting to hug your kids tighter!

Wharf Rat and 'Lady with a Fan'
- by Grateful Dead. Also, 'Where did Jesus go' by The Pretty Reckless. Both are good examples (yet diverse stylistically ) of narrative lyrics. 'Tommy' by The Who, 'Don't Stand so Close to Me' by The Police 'Dorothy Parker' by Prince 'Watchin Scotty Die' by The Dead Milkmen...the list goes on and on.

2Pac's Dopefiend's Diner
- Story about a drug addict being shot down while most of the viewers at the scene do nothing but crowd around the corpse until the media comes while the narrator looks on while visiting the diner and is sidetracked by it.
